In The Beginning...
Nathan Smith, Founder and Coach Builder has had the auto industry in his blood since he was a small boy. Following in the steps of his father Bob, Nathan has extensive experience in every aspect of the auto body industry, from collision repair to painting, until settling on the highly creative niche of auto restoration and customizing in the late 90's. Since then Nathan has been the lead builder at virtually every respected custom and restoration shop in Calgary since then.
In early 2020 Nathan took advantage of the world wide shut down and opened his own shop. His first project was one of the most challenging builds of his career when his client and friend brought in several crates of car parts from Australia that would eventually become a fully restored 1963 Austen Healey. Known in the industry as one of the more difficult bodies to rebuild Nathan was equal to the task as the photos will confirm.
...The Future
Now, a short 3 years later Nathan's business recently Christened as Hammersmith Auto Restoration and Customs Inc will move to its brand new location in Airdrie Alberta. With the aid of his designer brother Chuck and body mechanic Derek he looks forward to a new era of creative projects for clients like you!
